Sunday, February 21st, 2010

When considering bathroom accessories it is wise to consider your bathroom style, design, patterns, etc. For instance, if you have a kiddie’s bathroom, you want to consider its details to avoid adding bathroom accessories that make it appear. If you are designing a guest bath, you may want to add a sink skirt, fancy towels, soaps, dishes, mirror, shower curtain, toilet seat, decorative toiletries, and so on.

Decorating a master bathroom may benefit from fringed rugs, towel display, monogram towels, potpourri, decorative soap, and dish, bath oils, etc. After you decide you room, you want to consider your style. What do you prefer? Do you like traditional? Do you like contemporary? Do like Victorian? It is your choice. If you like the country style you can add a few baskets, picket fence accessories, rod-pocket shower curtains, etc. Add a couple of tiebacks to the curtain, preferably braided ties and you are off to a country setting.

If you like, the wood looks consider rustic bathroom accessories, such as birdhouses. Birch baskets are nice as well. Create a garden in your basket and you are off to the wood look. If you want dramatic, try adding live plants, vines, blending shower curtains, rugs, toilet seat, etc. On the other hand, if you want a fishery bath, add a fish toilet seat, matching curtains, and perhaps a sink skirt to match. Set off the area by adding nature-based tiles, walls, and so on.

Now that you have your style down, consider the patterns and colors you desire. If you are adding bathroom accessories to offset your bath, try coordinating your colors and patterns with fixtures, floor covering, wall colors, and other decorative. If you have porcelain fixtures, you may want to consider off-white, antique white or related colors and patterns when choosing bathroom accessories.

In addition, if you have porcelain sink, tubs, or toilet you may want to try a few darker shades or else brighter colors. Try to match the color. You can add greens to your room, which you can offset with accents of yellow as well.

If you are not, sure, which colors and patterns are best suited for your bath, try visiting Home Depots or related stores, and carry home a few samples. Any store that sells paints, tile, etc, will provide you sample colors.

How can I find color schemes?
You can match color schemes by considering neutral colors, in depth darker shades, brilliant colors, strong shades, etc. Patterns might include the pastels, which include the blonde woods. Wickers will set off blonde woods.

What about storage:
Once you have done your style, patterns, colors, etc, you may want to add storage. If you already have sufficient storage, you may want to add wicker baskets to the space.
Toss in your shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, and other accessories to clear up additional space.

How much does it cost for accessories?
It depends on where you purchase the items. If you are on a budget, try visiting your local Family Dollar Stores, General Dollar, or related stores. Often you will find various bathroom accessories to offset your bath. The items are affordable, and often delightful to the eyes.

Online you will find a wide array of dollar stores. The stores online will ship your items to your doorstep while offering you a wider selection. In addition, you can view the images online, which helps you match your patterns and colors more freely.

Rugs or Carpet?

Friday, February 19th, 2010

When we’re decorating our home we’re face the problem what to make on the floor – would it be a rug or carpet. And lately the state that the carpet is better selection were winning – has this truth changed?

Carpets are very famed right now – particularly colourful and fluffy ones. They appear nice and are really nice in touch. But are not too light to being take care of. They catch up with our attention but are they worth it? We would be more proud of when applying rugs instead. They’re functional and pretty also.

We can select what is best for us. What are disadvantages and advantages ?
First, we require to make many attempt to clean the fluffy carpet. Washing them is genuinely hard to do – we demand a particular cosmetics to do that and we can not do it in our washing machine. And numerous carpets may be dangerous in use for those who have allergies.

Rugs are easy to fresh – even in the washing machine. What’s more, years ago people were thinking about rugs only as a door mat or bathroom mat. But that has changed. We have so many designs and so many items to choose from that we no longer have to buy only carpets to the living room or bedroom.

Rugs have also important impact on catching annoying sounds – especially when we live in a big building close to the road. Rugs makes us more healthy and calm us this way. Carpets even if do the same won’t be as easy to use, cheap and nice as rug.

Lighting in Metal Carport

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

In contriving your electrical wiring, a basic consideration is lighting. Wiring probably will come from the same wiring that powers and lights your home or subsisting attached garage, depending on how close your new detached carport is from your home. If your carport not too big, one or two lighting fixtures possibly enough. A bigger, double-bay or triple-bay metal carport, metal garage or metal building might take multiple fixtures to provide enough lighting. And if you plan a corner workshop table, for example, you will involve to be sure that an electrical outlet for a plug-in lamp is nearby.

If your carport is enwrapped, most whatever standard lighting fixture should work fine. Open carports, nevertheless are subject to moisture conditions, specially in rainy, snowy or humid coastal climates. If your new carport will have an open or partly open configuration, you will want to install appropriate outdoor lighting fixtures that are immune to moisture. Consider supplying floodlights around the corners of your open carport, and pathway or driveway lighting in the base leading up to your carport to help ward off vandals and thieves.

For carports that open, solar-powered lighting costs more than electricity-powered lights at first, but will save you money on energy costs in the long run. A solar light with a motion sensor ascertains the light will come on only if someone is around, then mechanically turn off after a period of non-movement. This deflects wasted energy and money when no one is around, plus assists to alert you if a unwanted prowler – whether a thief or a four-legged visitor like a rascally raccoon looking for a free meal – has came near your carport.

All About Garden Treasures Patio

Monday, February 15th, 2010

After the garden furniture shopping is done and the furniture all in its place, now is the time to go for the garden treasures patio.  Look at the overall layout of your patio get a sense of the accessory that would compliment that spot. The garden treasure patio is all about adding your own personal touch and style to your special domain.  If you live in a site that only has a small courtyard to work with, you might want to consider things that hang rather than placed on the ground taking up walk space.  If you want to grow plants with eatable fruits such as strawberries or tomatoes, there are many creative ways to grow these plants, such as in hanging baskets, in small confined spaces.   A window box is a perfect spot for growing herbs that will be used fresh from your garden patio to the current spaghetti sauce or other savory dish.  Wall art can be hung on the wall nearest your garden patio to complete the look of your garden treasure patio.   To add shading to your garden treasure patio you can find a trellis and incorporate a sprouting vine to the spaces.

If your garden treasure patio is a much larger area, you can find additional novelty items to enhance the atmosphere of your garden treasure patio.  You may want to turn a small space into a kitchen or grilling area for those outdoor barbecues. For the warmer months, a small fountain gives the garden treasure patio a peaceful ambience.  The soothing sound of running water will aid in relaxing you while you read or just rejuvenate yourself from a hard day at work. A fountain will not be a distraction when entertaining guests, instead would add a measure of character to your garden treasure patio.  For the cooler months, a fireplace would be another highlight to your garden treasure patio.  The warmth of a fire and watching the glow of burning embers is as peaceful and soothing as the fountain in the warmer months.

Your garden treasure patio might be in need of shading from the scorching sun during the hot summer months or maybe to protect you and your guests from a quiet falling rain in the spring.  Then you will want to check into awnings, canopies, or other structures made for the purpose of adding cover.  An umbrella works for a small space.  If, however you are looking to cover a much larger region, you will need a much larger cover.  These coverings come in several different sizes and construction.  You will want to find what works best for you in your situation.

You may want to incorporate large tropical plants to your garden treasure patio.  If so you will find an array of large pots and huge tropical plants to pick from.  If you like the whimsical, you will discover small or large woodland creatures from gnomes, to squirrels to cute puppies that will add a special touch to your garden treasure patio.

Before Designing a New Kitchen

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Here are 10 important guidelines for your kitchen design project.

1. For efficiency, the work triangle (the space between the sink, refrigerator, and stove) should measure 26’ or less with no single side longer than 9’, or less than 4’.

2. In kitchens smaller than 150 sq. ft., opt for at least 13’ of base cabinets, 12’ of wall cabinets, and 11’ of countertop. In kitchens which are larger, go with at least 16’ of base cabinets, 15 1/2’ of wall cabinets, and 16 1/2’ of countertop.

3. For convenience, plan work aisles to be at least 42” wide for one cook, and at least 48” wide in multi-cook kitchens.

4. Specify a minimum of 24” of counter space on one side of the sink and at least 18” on the other.

5. To create the most accessible landing for unloading groceries, allow at least 15” of counter space on the handle side of a standard refrigerator; on both sides if it’s a side-by-side model. Or include a landing area directly across from the refrigerator, but no more than 48” away.

6. For cleanup ease, install the dishwasher within 36” of one edge of the sink and allow for at least 21” of standing room next to it.

7. For microwaves and ovens, provide at least 15 “ of counter space nearby, at least 16” deep.

8. For optimum clearance, no entry, appliance, or cabinet doors should interfere with another.

9. For comfort and to help avoid repetitive-motion injury, plan for work counters of different heights; between 28 and 36” off the floor (easier for chopping and seated-use access), and between 36 and 46” for general tasks (higher counters accommodate taller cooks).

10. To install a cabinet unit above the cook top, make sure the clearance is at least 24” for a fireproof surface, 30” for an unprotected surface.

Designing a kitchen is as much a science as it is an art. Knowing the recommended measurements to use when planning the project can make all the difference in the final outcome.
